Over the last 2 month, Our office in Hong Kong has been adapting to COVID-19’s new ways of working, improving quality and momentum of cross teamwork with digital platforms, it is happily paying us on efficiency, freedom, and speed.
Now, it is the time to plan around “How our design service can help companies to go-through these massive changes”.
Levering on our trends database and our experience we created a framework to put our clients up to speed and here I’m sharing it with you:
Hypothesis
Our hypothesis driving our design strategy run’s around some assumptions:
First, as all this crisis is an unusual opportunity and this one has some announced outcomes.
Second, there will be a massive shift in socio/cultural patterns moving purchase decisions towards “The New Good Living”, a mixed safety, health, well-being, and digital life extended.
Third, under the uncertain you must focus on strategy, starting now by understanding how your portfolio will fit a changed market once business re-start.
A plan with 3 phases
The “NOW” Phase
(The outbreak). Concentrate on portfolio maintenance and on people “caring” by creating the right mix for “online sales”.
Think about what your company can do, in a small and big scale, with clients, employees or supply chain, this will pass one day and you business ecosystem needs you.
While keeping your business running it’s vital to revisit your product strategy focusing on how will reflect The New Good Living, (health, safety and well-being home entertainment and digital social/working life), and building up the stories of this anticipated future.
The RECOVERY phase
Arrived at this stage your strategy should re-design and optimize and your “NEW” growth portfolio with clear benefits approaching those new consumer behaviors and lifestyles.
The NEW STANDARD phase
The above will enable you to be first on a new value space, setting the NEW STANDARD and bringing an unusual agility and time advantage.
We firmly believe each opportunity has momentum, COVID-19 brings uncertainties but will change social behaviors and patterns and we want to be ready for next.
